The Three (tree?) Wise Men and Mother Earth

Shiv, BB and Goughy had set their minds on a task. Goughy was a little late coming to grasp it but, as his mother always said, “Better late than never.” The task? Returning the feminine to Mother Earth. Mother Earth had been swamped for centuries by masculine energy, She had been beaten and bruised, however, She was down but not out. So what to do?

Was balance needed or a swing to the right? When Mother was new, pristine, beautiful, and energised, was she still only the Mother, or was She Also the Mother and Father?

Every individual carries two types of energy: masculine and feminine. These energies are not tied to gender, and typically, one energy is more dominant than the other. While both men and women possess both energies, women often express their feminine energy more naturally, while men tend to express their masculine energy. So, what exactly do masculine and feminine energies mean? And how do they influence relationships—with each other and with Mother Earth?

Here’s a breakdown of these two energies:

Masculine Energy

Masculine energy is action-oriented, focused on doing, and tends to be stable and predictable. It’s grounded in logic and structure, bringing clarity, willpower, and focus. People who embody more masculine energy often thrive on creating systems, rules, and structures that help them apply logic effectively. Some key characteristics of masculine energy include:

  • Rational and logical thinking
  • Clear thought processes
  • Consistency and ongoing effort
  • Confidence, resilience, and steadfastness
  • Creative problem-solving
  • Embracing challenges
  • A desire for admiration and recognition
  • Independence and self-reliance

Masculine energy often seeks order and structure in both internal and external environments. It is well-suited for creating stability and achieving practical goals. It embodies strength, but also has the capacity for creative thinking and overcoming obstacles.

Feminine Energy

In contrast, feminine energy is fluid, dynamic, and cannot always be predicted or logically explained. It is more intuitive, creative, and emotionally attuned. People who express more feminine energy are guided by their hearts and prioritize feelings over rigid structures. It flows with the natural rhythms of life, breaking free from societal rules and expectations. Key characteristics of feminine energy include:

  • Emotional calmness and self-soothing
  • Self-care and self-love
  • Creative inspiration and intuition
  • Empathy and understanding
  • Judgment beyond logic and rationality
  • Prioritizing emotional connection and feelings
  • Excellent communication skills

Feminine energy encourages connection, emotional depth, and creative expression. It is not confined by societal norms and is more attuned to the unseen, emotional, and spiritual aspects of life. People with a strong feminine energy tend to be more compassionate and nurturing, cultivating harmony and emotional intelligence in relationships.

Balancing Masculine and Feminine Energies

Recognizing the value of both masculine and feminine energy is crucial for individual growth and harmony in relationships. When balanced, these energies complement each other, creating a dynamic of both action and receptivity, logic and intuition, strength and softness. For instance, masculine energy may provide the focus and structure needed to move forward, while feminine energy brings flexibility, emotional depth, and creativity into the mix.

The challenge for many is to embrace both energies within themselves, without feeling confined by societal expectations or gender roles. For both men and women, integrating both energies allows for a more holistic and fulfilling life experience, fostering deeper connections with oneself, others, and the world around us.

I believe there is a greater need to appreciate and encourage feminine energy, not just by those embodying feminine roles, but also by those in masculine roles. Embracing and honouring this energy can bring balance, harmony, and deeper connection in all aspects of life.

To cultivate a deeper appreciation for feminine energy, we can begin by recognizing the presence and value of both masculine and feminine energies within ourselves and in others. Here’s a step-by-step approach to fostering this appreciation:

  1. Recognize the Energies Within Us
First, it’s important to acknowledge that both masculine and feminine energies exist in everyone. Masculine energy tends to be associated with action, logic, strength, and structure, while feminine energy embodies intuition, empathy, receptivity, and nurturance. Understanding that both energies play vital roles helps us appreciate their respective contributions to our lives and relationships.
  2. Value the Utility of Both Energies
Each energy serves a unique purpose. Masculine energy often drives us to achieve, build, and protect, whereas feminine energy nurtures, heals, and fosters connection. When we understand that these energies are complementary, not opposing forces, we can see how they contribute to balanced relationships and harmonious interactions with nature. In relationships, a healthy blend of both energies allows for mutual growth, understanding, and respect.
  3. Encourage Emotional Openness
Encouraging individuals—especially those who identify with masculine energy—to embrace their emotional depth, vulnerability, and nurturing side can create more harmonious interactions. It’s often the case that societal norms restrict men from fully embracing the feminine qualities of empathy, intuition, and emotional intelligence. Encouraging emotional openness and allowing space for these qualities helps break down these barriers.
  4. Honor Nature’s Cycles
Recognizing that feminine energy is also deeply connected to nature—its rhythms, cycles, and nurturing aspects—can deepen our respect for the environment. By acknowledging the importance of feminine energy in caring for the earth, we can build a more sustainable, mindful relationship with nature, understanding that we are all part of a larger ecosystem that needs both the protective, structured energy (masculine) and the nurturing, restorative energy (feminine) to thrive.
  5. Practice Balance in Daily Life
Actively working to balance both energies in our everyday actions can help us foster better relationships with others and the world around us. For instance, in professional environments, balancing the strategic, goal-driven aspects (masculine) with creativity, collaboration, and mindfulness (feminine) can lead to more holistic success. In personal relationships, this balance enables more compassionate, fulfilling connections.
  6. Shift Societal Norms and Expectations
Encouraging both men and women to embrace all aspects of their energy, regardless of gender expectations, is essential. Men should feel empowered to express vulnerability and creativity, while women should be encouraged to step into leadership roles and assert their needs without guilt. This shift requires cultural change, but small, personal efforts can lead to a larger societal transformation over time.

By acknowledging the strengths and value of both masculine and feminine energies and encouraging balance, we create more harmonious relationships—with each other and with the earth itself.

Bap and Dada recognized the imbalance in the world, particularly the imbalance between masculine and feminine energies, and took steps to correct it through their teachings and practices. They understood that the world had become dominated by materialism, rigidity, and the external, masculine aspects of life, often at the expense of the nurturing, intuitive, and spiritual qualities associated with the feminine energy. This imbalance, BapDada saw, was not just causing disharmony in human relationships but was also disconnecting people from their deeper spiritual nature and from Mother Earth.

Through their teachings, BapDada encouraged a return to spiritual balance—reminding individuals to embrace both their inner masculine and feminine energies in harmony. The teachings emphasise qualities such as love, compassion, intuition, and creativity, while also recognizing the need for structure, discipline, and action.

A core aspect of BapDada’s approach, beyond understanding the self, God, and The Drama, was the practice of meditation and self-reflection. This helped individuals reconnect with their higher self and nurture both masculine and feminine energies within. The focus was not on replacing one energy with the other, but on creating a harmonious balance where both could coexist and support each other.

By fostering spiritual awareness and personal transformation, BapDada’s guidance sought to realign humanity’s relationship with itself and the world around it—rebalancing energies to restore harmony not just in individual lives, but also in the collective human experience and in our relationship with nature. This rebalancing process was seen as key to bringing peace, love, and unity to the world, as well as healing the Earth itself, which has always reflected the balance or imbalance of human energies.
